Property Needs You (PNY) works with young people, parents, teachers and careers advisors to help young people make the most of the career opportunities in the property and construction industries.

PNY is a collaboration between twelve of the UK’s largest real estate consultancies, including:

  • CBRE
  • JLL
  • Savills

They raise awareness of the different careers available in their sector through online activities, at events, in schools and universities and across industry.

PNY was Bravand’s first client, ten years ago. The then Head of Programme came to us with the challenge of getting young people’s attention and engagement at 2012's Skills London event - the UK’s largest jobs and careers event for 14 – 24-year-olds.

With an immovable deadline, in record time we designed and developed an interactive iPad quiz game that tested users about fun facts to do with working in the built environment, opening their minds to the range of opportunities available along the way.

The current Head of Programme, Kelly Canterford MRICS, came to us earlier this year and, still with an immovable deadline, but without the need for record speed, we designed and developed a new interactive quiz, with the same aim - that was used at two careers and apprenticeships events - SkillsCymru in Cardiff and Skills London 2022 - last month.

In the intervening ten years, we’ve also redesigned and redeveloped the PNY website and, in running research with the user groups across these three projects, we’ve gained some really valuable insight from:

  • Young people
  • Parents
  • Careers advisers
  • Teachers
