Overview

Showcase Sheffield is one of the city's flagship business-to-business events - a chance for companies across the region to get in front of decision-makers, make new connections, and put their brand in the room.

For Bravand and Fresh Meet CIC, it was a first. After almost 14 years of trading, this was our debut exhibition - and we wanted to make it count.

The brief

We needed roller banners for both brands: eye-catching, on-brand, and built to do a job in a busy exhibition hall. That meant drawing people in, communicating quickly, and giving us something to stand behind - literally.

The brief went to Isabella Wright, a graphic designer joining us through Fresh Meet CIC's paid internship programme. It was her first project with us.

What Isabella delivered

Working to the brand guidelines for both Bravand and Fresh Meet CIC, Isabella designed a set of roller banners that balanced two distinct identities on a single stand. The designs needed to feel cohesive as a pairing - complementary without being identical - while each communicating clearly in its own right.

The production side added an extra layer of complexity. Print work moves differently to digital: lead times, bleed, resolution, file specifications, supplier relationships. Isabella managed the process through to production with Pinders, our Sheffield-based print supplier, navigating the print workflow for the first time.

The banners were ready. The stand looked great. And on the day, they did exactly what they were designed to do.

The outcome

We had one of the best-looking stands at the event. More importantly, people stopped. The stand sparked conversations, drew delegates over, and gave us a visible, professional presence that reflected both brands well.

After the event, Ross fed back directly to Isabella: "Fab work - thanks so much. They went down really well, did exactly what we needed them to do."

For a first exhibition in nearly 14 years - and Isabella's first project with us - that's a result.

Talent in Action: Isabella Wright

Isabella came to Fresh Meet CIC through a mutual connection. She's a graphic designer with a sharp eye for bold, considered work - whether digital or print - and a particular fondness for colour. And yes, a touch of pink.

She's currently in her final year of studies, and her internship with us has been designed around that reality. Fresh Meet CIC's model allows placements to flex around a young person's existing commitments - spread across a longer timeframe, fitted around education, picked up and paused as life demands. That flexibility isn't a compromise; it's the point. It's what makes a meaningful placement possible for young people who are still in education, rather than only accessible to those who've already finished.

Isabella completed the Showcase Sheffield project at the very start of her internship, fitting the work around her studies across a couple of weeks. With her exams behind her, she'll be returning to take on her next brief - working alongside the team on a pitch for a Yorkshire-based children's literacy charity.

The banners are proof of what's possible when you give someone the right brief, the right support, and the trust to get on with it.
