Euro Car Parts (ECP) is a distributor of car parts and accessories, with approx. 200 locations in Europe.

Problem

ECP has 16 distribution centres in the UK, which supply stock to local branches, from which couriers handle the last mile delivery to autocentres, garages and workshops.

This last mile delivery relied on paper manifests and wet signatures for proof of delivery. An outdated system that was not fit for purpose. It resulted in almost no tracking ability, stock going missing, and refunds being applied for and paid with no way of auditing.

In short, a significant amount of money way being lost, but no-one was really able to put a number on it.

Solution

We designed a new digital proof of delivery system around hand-held scanning hardware. Digitising delivery manifests and signatures meant tracking was possible and losses could be identified and managed.

Bravand specifically provided the upfront strategy, scoping, thinking and design elements of the project, working in conjunction with a software development house that the client already had in place.
