Sustainability statement
We're fun people. But there's some things we take very seriously.
Statement for the financial year 2023-2024
Bravand Limited is committed to sustainability.
We recognise the importance of responsible corporate citizenship in safeguarding the planet, supporting communities, and fostering economic well-being. Our commitment to sustainability is deeply embedded in our core values and practices, driving our efforts across environmental, social, and economic dimensions.
Environmental Commitment
Prevention of Pollution and Sustainable Resources
Our operations prioritise minimising waste generation and maximising resource efficiency. We are focussed on maintaining minimal consumption of materials and reduced carbon emissions. We promote responsible energy consumption and responsible procurement practises.
Climate Change Mitigation and Protection of the Environment
We are dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint and that of the people that work with us, our clients and their users / customers. Through investing in the principles of sustainable software design and development, we have been able to lower energy consumption and emissions for our own business and for our customers.
Biodiversity
We are conscious of the impact our operations may have on biodiversity. We are committed to minimising this impact through responsible sourcing practices and supporting initiatives that protect ecosystems and biodiversity hotspots.
Social Commitment
Human Rights and Labour Issues
Upholding human rights is a non-negotiable aspect of our business. Our policies promote fair practices, including but not limited to non-discrimination, fair wages (Bravand is an accredited Living Wage Employer), and safe working conditions, both internally and within our supply chain. You can view our modern slavery and human trafficking statement at www.bravand.com/modern-slavery.
Gender Equality
We are committed to fostering a workplace that values diversity and gender equality. Our efforts include policies that promote equal opportunities for all genders and support systems that encourage the advancement of women in the tech industry.
Social Mobility
We are making the changes we want to see, giving all people the same chances to do well in life regardless of the socio-economic background of their parents, their gender, age, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, birthplace, or other circumstances beyond their control.
Economic Commitment
Whole Life Cycle Costing
Our approach includes considering cost / benefit / risk in the broadest sense and that just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should. The entire lifecycle impact of our products and services is modelled so that we can design and develop software that benefits our clients and their customers / users without the tradeoff of negatively impacting others and the environment.
Local Communities and Small or Medium Enterprises
We prioritise partnerships with local businesses and support freelancers and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) within our supply chain to promote economic growth at a local level. Bravand is itself an SME and we firmly believe in doing well by doing good.
Supply Chain Sustainability
We actively work with our suppliers to ensure ethical and sustainable practices are followed, promoting transparency and responsibility throughout our supply chain.
Bravand understands our responsibility in shaping a sustainable future. We will continue to evolve our practices, set new benchmarks, and work with our stakeholders to achieve our sustainability goals. Part of our legacy will be that we left no trace.
